MILC
From PERI
- MILC
- From an email by Ying Zhang 1/24/07:
- The latest release of MILC is 7.4.0. MILC has been around for more than 20 years. Under SciDAC program, the QCD folks have developed several library packages to improve MILC's performance and portability. It is now running on almost all HPC platforms. Those libraries are: QMP, QLA, QIO, QDP/C, and QOPQDP, which are all on above page. MILC can be built either by its own or with all 5 Q* libraries (or some of Q libs). But for SciDAC purposes, we should use MILC with Q* libraries, this is what QCD folks are interested in.
- Update from Ying, 2/5/07:
- I found a small bug in MILC last week, it is actually not in MILC but in qopqdp library. QCD people has fixed it and issued a new release of qopqdp-0.7.8 on Saturday. On Jacquard, I've put a qopqdp-0.7.8 in /u4/yingz/tarballs and built it under /u4/yingz/QCD/q-install/qopqdp-0.7.8. For people who are working on MILC, please update your path in MILC Makefile.
- I've put all MILC related packages and built them on the BGL at Argonne. The files structures are similar to the one on jacquard. The tar files are at ~yizhang/tarballs and the installations are at ~yizhang/QCD. Again, you could look at my configure script and MILC Makefile to build everything by yourself.
- I also put together a suite of MILC input for benchmark runs. Those files are the standard input sets the QCD people use for benchmarking. They are in the tar file milc-input.tar in the "tarballs" directory on both jacquard and bgl at ANL. The suite contains the input files for the number of processors ranging from 8 procs to 1024 procs.
- For Xingfu, I downloaded and built the qopqdp-0.7.8 on ocracoke (BGL at RENCI) in /home/yingz/QCD. Please update your MILC Makefile with the new qopqdp.
